Many of you have been around long enough to see one of your past clans close or have at least been in multiple clans during your history. Each clan you've been a part of has most likely taught you something or influenced you in some sort of way. If you were to look back at your past and/or current clan how have they affected you?
How Has Your Clan History Affected You?
My first taste of clanning came from Elite Order, FEAR, and Dark Slayers. I learned throughout my time in these three clans how clans prepared for fights, how applicant processes worked and the difference between requirements of the upper tier of clans.
Upon joining Eternal Honour I learned the most about how clans really worked. This clan taught me about honor and respect and the difference between right and wrong. Although I enjoy a good flame war now and then our leaders were very strict and I'm sure I'm not the only one that learned some self control during my stay in EH. I learned importance of staying active on forums/in game/IRC along with returning, spamming, binding and tanking. Some of the most basic things we know now weren't always as common to those that haven't been in a top clan before. If it weren't for EH I wouldn't have stocked my bank with 100+ F2P sets every week.
Now in Damage Incorporated I experienced the other half of the game. Reluctant to P2P PK in any clan I've ever been a part of I finally gave it a shot. Once I maxed out and had the quests/magic levels in OSRS I realized how enjoyable it can actually be. Though costly at times a P2P fight can be every bit as enjoyable as F2P. I'm a little upset we never made a move in P2P with EH looking back at it. It's a lot different tactically than F2P and I already have taken a lot away from my time in DI. It's nice to have a balance of both when you learn to enjoy warring in both versions of the game. Another thing I've grown accustomed to is All Styles CWA fights. In EH most of our success came in Melee+Binds fights and I always found them more enjoyable. Can't say I enjoy All Styles CWA fights as it's an inaccurate style ratio compared to what clans would use in the wilderness, but it's been a learning experience each time we fight.
