Why Is The Clan World So Self Destructive?

This overarching question was actually motivated by Corr’s recently closing as I saw so many individuals post RIP Corr, great clan, wish you didn’t have to close, etc etc etc. Yet those very same individuals, before a closing topic had been posted, would be the ones insulting Corr, calling it a crap clan with crap members (members that the same individuals will now accept with open arms). That rather hypocritical attitude seems to be a common theme throughout the individuals here.

There’s been a steady stream of threads of how the clan world is dying as members are leaving for their own various reasons. True, individuals do leave on their own time, but there are other individuals who leave not because they quit RS or hate clanning, but because of the self destructive actions of the clan world. I was reading some topics and take for example the recent TT vs Sol fight. TT’s ending picture has the often said “gf crap clan”. However, that “crap clan” just gave you a fight, and is one of the few potential fights in the future. With the steady stream of insults and de motivating comments, why should that “crap clan” give you any fights at all in the future?

In addition, the mindset of the clan world is to drive members away from the opposing clan. Individuals will attempt to weaken the opposing clans by making their memberbase smaller and thus, having a better ability to fight and win. But by doing so, and driving members away from the opposing clan and the clan world entirely, you are again being self destructive in making the small memberbase that exists today even smaller. Rather than drive away those members, take action to make them want to stay, and extend the lifeline of this creation that so many of you have put in so much time and effort to create and keep alive. Then, there’s the actions of individual clan members. Perhaps this is a situation that applies solely to me, and perhaps it doesn’t. But the overall attitude and actions taken by many in the clan world drives away potential recruits as well as long time stalwarts. Why be so self destructive and drive away the very people you need to keep this going? The clan world will only survive as long as there are enough people around to keep it alive. By driving away individuals, you will get closer and closer to the breaking point. Individual clan leaders cannot be a clan of just themselves. They require members to lead into fights. Yet these members that are so desperately needed, are driven away when they come and offer their services. I was a long time member of the clan world, and would’ve been now. Even after I was no longer in clans officially, I still continued to fight for a select few to the point that I was actually more active than many of the members within the clans I fought for. I even stayed for the multi hour long fights where the vast majority of other members had left or missed a good portion of the fight because of the length. Yet these very clans that I contributed to created a hostile environment leading to my departure from fighting in general, except for a select few occasions, despite my ability and willingness to still contribute to the long PKRIs. What’s the purpose there? Why drive away active contributing members of the clan world, from the clan world? Why do so many of you want so many people to quit from the clan world when those very same individuals are the reason that you have individuals to fight?

Many of you will simply post tl;dr on the bottom of this topic and others will flame me, and that’s completely fine as I won’t be reading any responses. My question still stands however, if those of you who have intellect have the ability to read this in that, why are you all so self destructive? You know that the actions you take will induce individuals to quit before their true retirement, yet you all continue to do so. Rather than self destructive, why not take a self preserving attitude. It’s not difficult to take actions that will be more beneficial to all in the long run, yet it seems almost impossible for many of the individuals who exist here today.
