"Our Greatest Glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."
This quote has been attributed to many people throughout the years, but regardless of who said it first, its something that weve always tried to live by in The Rising. It is, in a sense, our montra.
It means that every single time we've messed up, thats been another spot for improvement. It has shown us that we can make mistakes and learn from them to achieve a higher performance and a better community and we always have.
Those words also mean to never give up. Sometimes when you make a mistake its easy to think, thats it, weve failed. TR has never stayed down and defeated, although we have been down and defeated. We have repeatedly gotten back up and moved forward, because to truly become successful is recognizing every tiny step towards that success and then taking more of them. Thats what TR has always done.
I have always been proud to be The Rising, regardless of our rankings in the clan world, because I knew that if we stuck to our core beliefs and we never, ever allowed anyone to sway us from that, our successes would become what they were meant to be - OUR successes. We have never allowed the clan world or other clans to dictate who we are, we have always stayed true to our rules, our ways, our community, our family , and that is something I am deeply and truly proud of.
A year ago Monkey and I decided that we would give The Rising one final year of dedication before retiring from the game and move on with real life. With our final wilderness victory over RSD as well as a string of successes over the past few months, I am officially announcing the closing of The Rising clan. We are ending on a high ...on OUR terms.
I'd like to personally thank RSD for being the only clan willing to fight us today, it was a true pleasure. A thank you to NBK and DF for AC'ing, it was definitely needed :P. I'd also like to thank all the clans who have given us fights and rivalries throughout the years... both those still around and others who are long gone.
No one other than maybe Monkey will ever understand what this clan and our members have meant to me for the past 4.5 years of my life. When I stepped up to lead TR almost four years ago, everyone said we would fail and that there was no way a woman could lead a clan. Ill let our successes, longevity, and community speak for itself .
A wise person once told me that as you walk down the fairway of life you have to stop and smell the roses, because you only get to play one round. Ive played my round in TR and now its time for me to play the game of life.
Now as I say this one last time Onwards and Upwards TR into the game of real life.
