How lucky am I to have something that makes saying Goodbye so hard....This decision was an extremely tough one, and it's by far the hardest thing I've had to decide on RS, but here goes.
Of course this topic is not a surprise to most of you, and the majority of you know how inactive the leadership has become over the past month or so; other obligations has taken its toll on myself and Trinity, and as we grow up, theres more important obligations in life that give us no time whatsoever to lead Octane. Family, Friends, Work, and Studying take up the majority of my time, and I can't really be arsed adding RuneScape to it aswell.
There was once a time where I found RuneScape enjoyable, and attended as many events as I could over the course of my 9 years of clanning; sadly times change, and so does ones attitude on the game, and I'm no different. Personally, for me, warring is more of a chore for myself, rather than enjoyment.
Myself and Trinity had long talks about what the future holds for Octane, and we decided we're no longer holding the team back, simply because we do not enjoy the game anymore, and as for me, I'll be quitting this game, no you can't have my account, Cody.
Octane opened on August 21st, 2011, after a merge between Team Valiant, and Team Tempted Killers. Myself and Trinity had huge ambitions for this team, most of which was reached, and within the clan world, we grew into a strong, and stable team, with an aspiration to provide members of the slowly dying clan world extra events, and a community. Many people doubted us, even some of our own members and ranks were sceptic about this merge, but after our first few wars and a winning streak we held for a long time, against some of the finest mid sized clans and top tier teams, people began to realise what we were about, and the clan world started to join us as we grew into a team pulling 35+ people to each and every war, whilst being classed as a top 4 team, aside from the SE, EU and TKO powerhouse. One thing that was unique about Octane was that we were here for fun, and were alot more lenient in what we did, although we respected our opponents and gave them good clean fights as much as we could, we were never as strict as other teams, because we never wanted to kill the fun element of this game.
Through amazing ranks and some of the best quality members we could ask for, Octane has reached great heights, won some great and intense battles, and had some fun rivalries over the 11 months of our existence, and if it weren't for every rank and member who put their bit into Octane, even by simply attending a war, we wouldn't have even lasted a month. I thank each and every one of you who have put your 2 cents into Octane, whether you've been simply idling on our IRC, or you've been along side me, helping me run this team, or attending a war, you've made a difference, and its been much appreciated.
Thanks to every clan and team whose given us wars in the past, every rivalry we've had, although small, it's always given us a lot of fun walking into the battlefield, knowing what our objective was. Also cheers to every single member and rank whose been along side me in Octane. I've personally made a few enemies along this hell of a ride, and I'd like to apologize to anybody who hates me for whatever reason, whether its making them ragequit, flaming them, or generally hitting a nerve. I know theres a quite a lot, but regardless, I like to put things in the past, so heres my apology, whether you accept it or not.
Thanks to everyone for everything. I'm going to miss alot of you, and the laughs we've had over our course, and all you yanks (and Trinity) trying to impersonate my Scottish accent. I'll probably still be on IRC every now and then, and to those who have me on WhatsApp, stay in touch.
I'm not going to do specific shoutouts, but I want to specifically thank someone who, without them, Octane would have been a struggle
- Johnny (Trinity). Man I've known you for atleast 3 years now, and since Team Vendetta, we've grown to become really good friends and you're pretty much like a bro to me, and I want to thank you for being a pal over the hard times, and generally been one of the chillest guys to talk to on RS. We talk alot on TS, WhatsApp, and we always have a laugh when playing LoL, or generally taking the piss out of others, or when you're doing that crapty Scottish accent trying to impersonate me. We've had our bad times occasionally, but they would always get resolved. I'm more than certain we'll keep in touch on facebook, WhatsApp, and even when we tear crap up on LoL together (jk I'm crap r0fl). Cheers for an amazing 11 months of being an Octane leader with me, was a pleasure. We're still collabing though, Pakerian Productions, gonna be a hit I'm telling you son.
