...But not in the way most people are bickering about.
One thing I've seen a lot of people bring up lately about this 2007 server, is the fact of an empty economy and reset of characters. Although I do not personally have the time I use to, I see it as a good opportunity to get the PKing and warring community active again. Either a newer member of the clan world, a veteran or just plain straight-out old school, why are we fighting eachother with the exact push we need to get over a dying / dead (depending on your opinion) clan world?
Back in the beginning of the clan world, what did you use to war? It surely hasn't always been Rune items. Within the past 5 years minimum, we've relied on the same armor and weapons while our techniques and abilities have become much more advanced. Why do you expect these fights on this new server that's being implemented, to be in the best gear possible for what we do, in such a small amount of time? It just does not work that way. In order to rejuvenate something, you start from the ground up, not from where you left off.
I can see a wilderness fight on the first day of the release for these servers to be completely honest with you. Guess what it's going to be with? Bronze and Iron from those players who have the time to put in the effort to make these items. A week later, you'll see people fighting in Steel and so forth. Later on down the line, you'll see Rune coming back to it's former glory of being used in clan fights on this server. You just can't get from point A to point F without making a stop at point B, C, D and E in return.
The thing about this though... Is we must have patience. Not the type of patience we had to deal with for EoC, learning how to use abilities, relearning the best gear, etc. It's the patience of time. Time makes the world go by minute by minute, with those minutes spent, an hour goes by, followed by days, which in return gives us our 52 week calendar. Rome wasn't built in a day and the "golden years" of the wilderness wasn't made in 24 hours from the release of RuneScape. It took years to learn what we had never experienced. Now, going into the year that a majority of players think was most enjoyable; we're experienced. We know what to do and we know how to enjoy ourselves while putting up with the patience of time.
Quit making excuses, if you're going to try, try. If you're not, why are you even bothering with voicing your opinions? The fact you can't come together as a community is what's killing this clan world (alongside other things), I honestly hope the people who are dedicated to clans move on and do great things. While the others "claim" they have a life while still sitting on these forums / IRC / TS / their clan forums for 4+ hours a day.
