2 and half years ago, Envy was made with the purpose of being an F2P warring clan. And boy did we make a name for ourselves in that scene. Starting with literally just 2-3 friends, we managed to recruit more friends and teach eachother how to war. We learnt from one another, and progressed together as a group. We weren't like the rest of the clans. We were different.
So we worked our way up, from nothing, to getting our name out there. Soon we were pushing for top 15 and found ourselves in the end in the zone of the top 10. But somewhere along the way, somewhere, I lost that spark. I lost the interest and passion I once had for this game, and found it hard to motivate myself to log on and basically lead a clan. Its not something I've been thinking about over the last day, or even last few weeks. Its been here for months, and I'm finally making the decision I think is best. Today is Clan Envys last day in the clan world - after which we will be disbanding.
Its nothing to do with our recent performances or such - infact we've been pulling consistent 40-50's over the last month or 2. We've accomplished the unimaginable for what was expected of us. We've actually gone the last 4-5 months without any war based ranks and made it this far, for our own reasons. But the ending is fully due to me, and its a hard decision I have to make, but its the best decision too.
Passing down leadership in a clan the way Envy was brought up just wouldn't work, and thats pretty much it. A lot, almost all of you will have wanted to go on, but it just won't work out, and I'm thinking in the longer term future. Over the last few weeks I've talked to a lot of you and some of you do agree and understand with my reasoning. For those that don't - I understand too why you don't, and its fine.
Its been an amazing 2 and a half years that I'll never forget. We pulled out of many hard times, and also had the moments where we were untouchable. Its been an amazing run, and I'm sorry to close on such a high note but I'd rather do this than die old and crippled. Our community really was something to Envy - I've made friends in here I'll talk to for life, and have met some people who are unquestionably amazing in their own respect. All of you are heroes, and the dedication and passion shown for Envy over the last 2 months where we've hit our beak is unreal.
Thank you too all the members that set foot in this clan, and everyone who gave everything they could to Envy. I want to thank the rest of the clan world - mainly the mid-tier section - for all the battles you've given us, whether they were good or bad. Every hater - shoutout to you guys - kept us going when we were losing reason to. You guys only made us stronger so I owe it to you guys too. My heart goes out to all the ranks, and old-school members who kept this clan alive in June when we hit a hard slump, and rocketed back up with amazing individual step-ups. All the current members who were here to the end, thanks to you guys too. Apologies to quite a few FA's who will only hear this news now, and to people who were planning on applying.
So stay strong guys, keep ownin', let the haters always Envy how amazing you guys are, and don't let the rush ever die. We might be gone, but in your hearts and souls, is where Envy truly lives on.
