Well here we are again; another birthday!
It was now 12 years ago today, on 16th December 1999, that Militant and Esq187 decided to create a clan on cyberwars as a response to The Sabres' dominance. I wont drag this on with unnecessary history, but since that day 'The' Clan has been home to thousands of people, warred hundreds of clans, and gone through the entirety of Runescape's development. Whilst we may not be the powerhouse clan we were several years ago, today we still hold to the same ideals of honour implemented from day 1 and have the same buzzing, multicultural community of oranges.
The past year has been incredible; we developed from pulling 18s to 40s, fought against the likes of CR, DF, Sol, TRWF, DW, and with our allies: VR, EoS, Corr, DF. (to name but a few) Both the highs and lows have been exciting, a huge thanks to every clan/team who has given us clean fights over the last year - and indeed over the last 12 years!
I would personally like to give shout-outs to the following people:
Jigs - You are a true inspiration. The sacrifices you've made for this clan are incredible; from getting into a car accident driving fast to get home for a pkri, to locking yourself in your uni basement to call, to sneaking out of a conference and going to an internet cafe to fight with us! Keep it up man.
Germs - You legend. The love you have for 'The' is immeasurable, and although you've retired, you will always make time for us and that's why you're the stinking man.
Hants Rose - I can't thank you enough for the work you've put into this. You are by far the most under-appreciated official yet you continue doing the forum work of 5 people like it's nothing.
Drew - Well, you are definitely one of a kind. You've always stuck with it no matter what, and there is never a dull moment on teamspeak with you online. The abuse you take is probably illegal.
Adrian - Although you're no longer a leader, you still feel like one. I was genuinely impressed when I first met you, you're also probably the most capable warrer amongst us.
Dk/Krayon - Amazing council, both incredibly active and both have been around for years and years and years.
All 'The' Members - Of course you are what makes everything run. You're all fantastic people and you all contribute to make us what we are today. Everyone here today has stuck with us through the hard times and you guys deserve much better than Drew
The Alliance - How amazing it is to have 3 of the greatest allies any clan could hope for! Thank you for all the fun times, and I can't wait for all the fun times to come. It's a real privilege to call you pickles, strawberries, and grapes our friends.
So, thank you for reading this, and thank you for the support/respect/hate/motivation/excitement. In a shrinking clan world with clans dying left right and centre, there is only one thing I can guarantee. 1 Year from now, we will be celebrating our 13th birthday, come rain or shine.

However the great members of our community and the passion and pride of the orange tree has thrived me to truly say this is my second home. Literally thousands of people have come in and out of 'THE' and they took with them a rich history that still lives on today. This clan would be nothing without our amazing community and the family we have built. I would like to personally thank each and every member who has made their efforts on being an orange.
