2007 Rules Reboot

As you all are well aware, recently Jagex released Runescape servers from 2007, which has been enthusiastically embraced by the clan community. In response, the Zybez Clan Discussion staff has looked deep within our collective conscious to determine whether or not our rules and moderating accurately reflect the current state of the clan world. After much deliberation, we have decided that it was time to update our policies. And by update, I mean return to the rules circa 2007.

What does this mean for the newly renamed Clan Fights and Events? For those of you that don’t remember, let me give you a quick rundown in convenient list form:

1.   Winner gets topic rights. If the loser posts, their topic will be closed. The winner is determined as last clan standing. Exceptions are as followed.

a.    If a clan can prove they had pre-agreed upon rules AND that a significant portion of the opposing clan broke those rules, then they will be declared the winner.

b.   If a clan regroups in single they forfeit topic rights.

c.    If a clan leaves the boundaries of the fight, they forfeit topic rights. Default boundary is the multi area around the Greater Demon Hut, above the lava gap and before the spider hill. Clans can agree upon different boundaries beforehand, according to rule 1a.

d. No-RSC posting will NOT be honored.

2.    Only clans involved can post. This means from now on, 3pp is no longer our policy.
3.    Crashers may not post. If a crashed fight results in a cluster, the original crashing clan may not post, but anybody else involved may post. Last clan standing gets topic rights.
4.    Starting and/or Ending ops AND one picture of the action are required for proof of a fight.
5.    These rules apply to all fights posted after the time stamp on this topic, whether 2007 servers or EoC. Skilling events will be determined by the pre-agreed upon rules for that event.
6.    This is the most important rule: Respect the decisions of the Community Leader. Passions are heated and tensions are flared when clans argue over who wins, and by the very nature of the ruling a CL is going to upset one side or another when they make a call. Therefore, the winner of each contested fight will be discussed by the active CD Staff. We will always be forced to deal with limited information, which means each decision will be a judgment call. If you wish to present evidence for your case, post it in the thread so any moderator has access to it.

These new, or should I say old rules require cooperation between you, the everyday regular members of Clan Discussion and the CD staff in order to be successful. We brought these rules back because we too yearn for a clan world from days long past, but we also wish to minimize the drama that came with it. Remember we’re all here because of our love for this game, and with your help we can create a whole new Golden Era of Runescape clanning!

You may read the rules in their entirety here.
