You know I sometimes feel we rely on Jagex way too much. There was this rs video maker(he was a pker and I can't remember which one) and he had a quote that was something along the lines of "don't let the game change you, change the game yourself." I'm not saying help from Jagex isn't wanted or sometimes unnecessary. I'm just saying there's a lot we can do on our own.
The clan world is in a great position right now but it could be much better as well. I'm just going to list a few things the clan world can do to improve.
>> Maturity. I'm not saying you can't joke around, but we should try to cut back on the constant flaming. And I'm not pointing fingers at all. I'm speaking to everyone. We've all gotten much older and I think its time we started to show that. Cut back on the flaming and the clan world will be a much nicer, and much more appealing place to outsiders.
>>Ddosing and other No Honor acts. They need to stop. Like I said in the paragraph above, we're older and we need to act like it. I just read a thread about the Old School servers being ddosed, and I'm not saying Jagex doesn't need to do something about it: I'm saying we too can do something about it, by quitting these no honor acts. Again I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone.
>> Recruiting on Runescape Boards. I know what you're thinking trust me! HOWEVER we need new blood. Many people believe that the recruits from runescape forum boards don't understand the clan world and how it works. But we can teach them and keep this community going. Think of the clanning community like a tradition: given 5+ years without new blood/recruits and this tradition
will end without anyone to carry it on.
Again I'm not saying help from Jagex isn't wanted. Also I think they should have more events like the clan cluster really, but I'm also saying we need to support ourselves when Jagex isn't instead of waiting for them to.
