The Clan World League.

Continuing from Keifer/Richworth's topic about a Runescape commentary, wondered what people's thoughts are on expanding the idea to this. - Post from original topic and continue's from his idea.

This is a really good idea hypothetically, although I think it has more appeal in a P2P sense. Purely because of the way fights are orchestrated.

But taking this idea, one step further and I'll try to not go to SkySports/PremierLeague football style on this but I think the concept, could work and give people a further desire to get more involved and this idea applies to both P2P and F2P.

So you create a ' League ' or multiple league's depending on the amount of entries. And depending on the sizes, you either have to have a fight a week on the weekend or say two fights a week, one weekend and a weekday fight. And in the event of there being more than one league, you could implement promotion/relegation. And to make ' seasons ' less long winded you could make the leagues a lot smaller more like groups with more of them with promotions/relegation but obvious the idea would be thought through based on interest.

You decide on the rules for example, every-fight is full out, no returning, anything goes, minus you must not go out of ' bounds ' and team capes only and if you crash a fight while being in the league you are disqualified. A win is 3 points and a loss is none. In the result of a fight being crashed, clans can either agree to re-group and restart or call it a draw and claim one point each.

So on the ' fight day ', they would all have same-start times on various worlds, almost like kick-off at multiple stadiums.  And people would be able to float around streams, watching multiple matches and listen to multiple commentaries. You could also have like a Match of the Day, where say all fights kicked off at 6PM Saturday and on 10PM Sunday. Commentators, would do a stream where they talk within the group, about the clan world, officials, how the fights went, talk about how which officials/callers weren't there and if that impacted the fight, or say how someone wasn't there last week when they lost but when they returned they won, do you think he make's the difference? Speaking about tactics, I.E running out say west and barraging the pile, how members were purposely getting piled so callers could call barrage piles, comment on the quick transitions and how one team wiped out say 10 mages in quick concession etc. Speak about each league and possible positions clans could come, about why they are or aren't at a disadvantage e.g being a Team or pure based. Talking about individual players, there tanking ability and what people were doing right in-game. This is all providing, experienced people who will notice these key elements are on the panel. But you get the format.

And then either on these forums, or somewhere else. You could have a hub, where spectators can, re-watch video's, read reviews and blogg's about each fight. And having an update section, almost like you would on your SkySports app, getting the Clanwars news in brief for example.

Reign of Terror defeat, Mayhem Makers, losing only 8 people and ending the fight in minutes.
Ancienty Fury defeat, Damage Inc with only 6 people left.
Jaja today crashed a fight in-between EOP & FOE and will no-longer complete in the league.

You could even wack out statistics, like longest fight, quickest win, longest tank, biggest pull etc etc.

I know it sounds like a impossible idea but with the right people involved, it would spark some real interest, hype and competitiveness. Obviously it would need to be played around with a lot but the core elements and back bone of the idea could be successful.

But if you disagree, feel free to shoot it down.
