RSC Clan Awards 2015


Just like that, 2015 is over. This year we've seen updates such as GWD to the Wilderness Rejuvenation. Most of which have helped us in some way. We've seen most RS3 clans move on from RS3 to the OSRS servers now on top of a few clans reopening. Here's to reflecting, improving, and growing in the next year to come. Let us recognize the successes of 2015 now.

  • Use the format at the bottom of the post
  • You are allowed one vote per category
  • Your account must have been registered in November 2015 or earlier and must have 50+ posts.
  • Voting for every category is not a necessity
  • Voting will be open from 25th of December to 4th of January
  • Votes made solely to troll will be nulled.
  • You do not have to justify your votes, however, if you feel the need to then do so at the bottom of your post. However, if you post any baits or flames your vote will be deleted and nulled.

Hello men, today i witnessed ronin get slaughtered at the hands of downfall...in case you didnt know ronin begged downfall for help in a crash war several months ago in which downfall bailed them out of,now after beefing with downfall several months it seems that downfall has had enough and has decided to destroy ronin, with the state of the top 4 right now it looks like downfall may be poised to take #1...



so riddle me this?

1. is the rise of downfall the end of ronin?

2. will ronin bow down or fall down?

3. will downfall make a push for the top 5?

4. did ronin make too many enemies with their attitude toward their peers and their poor choice of both members and officials?

Unplanned PKRI Week [F2p]

I for one miss the unplanned PKRI .. the hunting down of clans, the tracking and use of scouts to find clans hopping around on F2p Pk trips.. the massing to hit a clan out pking, to ultimately and truely end their pk trip and send them running, or to try and counter the attack of a rushing clan and call more warriors into battle.

Obviously i understand times have changed and with few clans around, and so much clan beef , with also the problem with few worlds.

But what if... we set aside at least one week a month to have the whole clan community get together and say this week we will gather 20-30 or how ever many members and wonder out in the wilderness throughout the week, not just sunday.. and search for clans.. i understand it can be boring especially if no one tracks you down, the lack of F2p wilderness and such, but just stick it out doing it randomly throughout the week for atleast 30mins see if anyone has the courage to come hit you, or even by chance you run into a clan then went out at the same time as you.. I think it would be fun, would bring the rush back, and even show the commitment if you can hang or will you be forced out of the wilderness. The unplanned part would be key.. but it would be awesome if we could manage to come together and set something like this up.

First and foremost, Happy New Year 2016 to all CDRSC readers & posters

As the title mentioned. Instead of asking the Zybez authorities the pinned thread in the CD forum. Let's discuss about how can we, the majority of the user base of CDRSC to improve ourselves to ensure that CDRSC will be a better place for the year 2016 and the years ahead of it.

Throughout the months returning back here in CD. There have been several hate messages whether or not it's simply trolling or just plain direct hate messages made me think that it still feels like we're somehow stuck in 2006/2007 CDRSC with our current attitude towards other rival clans. I know that I've been away from this place for years but reading through history threads and other several pages back is really cringe worthy and really stoop pretty darn low somehow.

We gather around in this thread and express about how can we help ourselves instead of helping the staff to improve CDRSC. So that atleast we are aware about everyone's opinion towards this forum section and as well to make CD a better place than our previous years.

Hey guys, new to the forums and only recently gotten back into playing oldschool runescape again, havent played since 2006/2007 and was really into the high level clan wars in deep wild, and i remember it was such a big thing back then.

just wanted to know, is clanning still big on Oldschool Rs servers, was thinking of training up my account to get back into the massive clan fights again, and if it is will it last?

I remember in the past clans like RSD have been accused of hiding from clans to keep #1 how does that work if the #2 challenger stands in the ring and #1 just doesn't turn up how can they be considered #1....


I take a look at clans like vR clans that in the past have been #1 but have never backed down from anything always willing to fight no matter the cost and I can respec that they go as hard as that is it reckless? ofc it is but do I have a tear in my eye when I see them go down scrapping? hell yes I do.


so my question to you to keep #1 do you have to fight no matter the cost especially if the reason for not fighting is due to beef that you caused?

Top Clan Lists

Feel free to post your opinion of the Top 10/20/30 clans in RuneScape, but first, please carefully read the rules.

Rules:


1. DO NOT SPAM.
  • This includes excessive posting, you shouldn't need to post a list every day or two times a day. If you want to post two lists in such a short time period (for example less than a day) you can simply re-make your list by editing your last post made on the topic.
2. No commenting on others lists.
  • This basically falls under rule number one, but to explain further: do not in any way refer to another persons list. This includes quoting and comments about there list as well as "retaliations" because someone posted an unfavorable comment about a clan you're in / like. Breaking this rule will likely result in an suspension, regardless of whether it's your first offence or not.
3. No "mentions", "notes" or other comments.
  • Basically only make your top list, there is no need to put in an extra section for clans that didn't make your list. The reasoning for this is that many people abuse "mentioning" as a way to either advertise their own clan or talk down and insult another clan.
4. Report rather then retaliate.
  • Find a post offensive? Then use the [Report] button at the bottom of that person post, the report WILL be reviewed within a short time and if the person is in the wrong then they will be punished. Rather than causing spam, flames, and trouble for yourself, simply report the post.
5. Be sensible.
  • This topic is for top lists, not to flame or flame bait another clan. If you do ANYTHING that we feel is an attempt to put down or target another clan then you WILL face punishments (e.g. suspension).
6. Do not change clan initials
  • The changing of clan initials (e.g. DS = BS) is prohibited. Under no circumstances, joking or not, are you to change the given initials of a clan. You are to use their full, appropriate initials to avoid your post being perceived as a flame/flame-bait.
What IS allowed:


1. Different types of lists -
  • We welcome different types of lists as long as they are SENSIBLE and thought out, things like "Top 10 war list", "Top 10 pk list", "Top 10 on paper", etc. lists are fine as long as they follow all other rules. If these are clearly made to negatively isolate another clan, they will be removed.
2. Comments that relate to your rankings -
  • We're fine with comments that are simply there to describe a clan or things that contributed to you ranking the clan. Things like "Active", "Been unstoppable lately", "Seem to be in a slump", etc. are fine however EXCESSIVE comments that rant on and on about a clan will simply get your post removed, we do not need a 3 paragraph lecture on every clan. Also comments that are overly negative or solely there to put down a clan are not allowed. Taunts (and all comments that are made TO a clan instead of ABOUT the clan) are not allowed. Any derogatory remark or cheap shot will be removed.
Please keep in mind that just because someone puts another clan higher than where you think it should be, it doesn't mean you have to flame them and/or question their judgement. It's their own opinion and you should respect it. These are NOT official lists, these are opinions.

Recently we've noticed a lot clans using the top-10/20/30 sticky as a way to flame or flamebait other clans, no clans nor names are mentioned but we have decided to be more strict and enforce our current rules when it comes to explaining why you rank a certain clan in that position.

Example:
Good post: #13 - [Clan]: Haven't been accepting many wars lately.
Bad post: #13 - [Clan]: They never war because they are scared and they keep making bs excuses.

We will still allow everyone to explain why they decide to rank a certain clan on that position. Keep comments to justification of your ranking, however, and not for the purpose of discussing a fight, directly addressing a clan, or 'making a point' through your list explanation. We will become a lot more strict when it comes to flaming and flamebaiting in the top 10/20/30 topic. If you push the envelope, we will push back.

We kindly ask everyone who posts in the top-10/20/30 topic to prevent from flaming or flamebaiting, I'm sure most of you are mature enough to follow this very simple rule. The topic is active and will most likely stay that way, we don't want it removed but we have to be more strict and enforce our rules in order to not get any flame wars there. Cause lately it was starting to get close to it.

In short: Do not flame or flamebait in the top-10/20/30 sticky. If you are caught flaming, moderators WILL take further action and there's a chance of you facing a suspension. Also, remember, punishments are at the individual moderator's discretion.

Discussion - The success of Reign of Terror clan

This is not a bait, rather a promotion of healthy discussion about one of the clans in the clan world and how they would fit into the clan world on a historical level.

For the past few years, since Old School re-opened. I think that it is has been largely accepted that Rot has perhaps overall been the most dominant clan in terms of pulls and their fights against clans. They have largely been in a crash war against DF, DI and VR during that time.

I have come to the conclusion that the circumstances of the clan world have greatly benefited ROT and perhaps led to how well they have done.

If you look at a brief history of ROT & the clan world. They only really became a decent force in F2P in late 2010 as before they had not aimed to excel in this area and then got up there with the rest of the clan world in 2011. During this time there was DF, ROT, EOS, VR, RSD, TT, Solace, CL, TR, other mid size clans of whom there were many & also there were more P2P teams and clans. So effectively during that time the clan word was roughly at least three time the size it is now, if not four times.

If we go back even further to 2009. There were all of the above clans including DI, SE, EH and a multitude of other mid-size and small clans. And so on back in history.

It is notable that from say perhaps when DS died in early 07, until Old School RS there has not been a clan which has had the success that ROT are claiming they have had. Even with DS, it was perhaps debatable. My belief is that this has been simply impossible in the historical environment in the clan world; there was too much competition and clans are being assaulted from all sides. For example Clan A could defeat Clan B in a week prep on a Saturday which is great, but historically there has been CLAN C D E F G H I J K who are equally as able to defeat either clan. Whereas ROT are lucky in that due to the size of the clan world, they can choose their own game plan; rather than have the environment dictated for them that other clans have had in the past.

Putting it simply, I do not believe that ROT as it is, would be able to thrive as they do now in previous eras of the clan world. This is because they would not be able to have the current effect that they are having now. Due to the size of the clan world, ROT are allowed to dictate much of what happens in the wilderness. This is because if ROT is not fighting, then only DF, VR and DI can really fight each other. Whereas where the clan world was much bigger, ROTs tactics would be ineffectual as they would not be able to involve themselves in as much of the clan world's fights & business as they do now. This would lead them as a little fish in a big pond, whereas now they are a big fish in a little pond.

Nevertheless, I do congratulate them on their innovativeness and success.

Discussion:

Despite Reign of Terror's self-proclaimed epitaph of the most dominant clan ever, do you think that this is an invalid claim as they could not do this during the 'golden era's' of the clan world?

Do ROT members agree with the statement that if the clan world was the same size as it has been historically, they would not have as much of an impact on clan dealings as they do now?

Has the current size of the clan world directly led to ROT's success, rather than their own skill and determination?

After the merciless beating vr received yesterday around 4 hours ago their officials came into Downfalls irc begging for a truce. Direct quotes from the discussion among leadership from both clans: "We never mean't to hit you guys" , "we don't want any beef with you".

1. How will this effect future vr fights?

2. Will vr finally be able to defeat Rot now?

3. Will vr make this mistake again?

4. Will vr stick to this truce?

5. Will the vr+df alliance get a morale boost?

The future apps and short preps fights

After whatsapp launch , a lot of clans use this app to improve thier activty and calling out their members for short prep (also kik and other apps).

My vision in 2016 and that's my suggestion for zybez to help out the clan world is to relase app by this forum for prep wars and unprep activity...this sounds insane for some people

But imagine you can know who is out with vids live and pics 24 hours by your phone?  And ye there is option on youtube to record live we all know that.
So app can tell you who is out by pics and vid 100% or you can tell other clan world that you got amount of members out waiting for action...how will that effect the clan world and will your clan use it to make the Wild of runescape.com active again?

Unfair Advantages

Recently some eagle eyed members in the Violent Resolution camp have discovered that Reign of Terror are using third party software in their runescape fights to gain a MASSIVE advantage over the clans they are fighting.



Here is the video in question. From this video we can see the HUGE advantage RoT has over their competitors.

Have a watch of the video, I personally notice a few things:

- Whoever their callers are attacking, is highlighted in blue on the minimap and ingame (the ingame charachter gets a huge blue dot LMFAO so everyone can see their pile straight away)
-Their callers are green on on the map so you can see them easier
- Its autospamming what brian289 says
- Seems like some binds arent really being clicked, almost auto binding.
- Different colors for rot members on right clicks so they know who not to attack and who to attack

This makes the fight so easy for RoT members, they know exactly who they're piling and transitioning to. Ridiculous advantage for both wilderness fights and the Jagex cup.

Does anyone know if you're even allowed to do this on Runescape? If so.. I advocate every clan getting something like this to even the playing field.

Clan Fights 2016; The Era of Scripts?

So it's been recently discovered that rot, sv and possibly a number of other clans are now using a third party client/plugin with scripts to automate certain aspects when fighting other clans.
 
Using these bots, they can manage to get a clear advantage over their opponents as some of the features include;
 
Highlighting targets in-game when your leader is attacking them, showing exact loc/diff colour beside name
Automated binding,
Auto returning (a rod member recently got banned for this)
Auto spamming on the person you're attacking,
Auto spamming with a hotkey,
Auto highlighting names ingame when added to a snipe list,
Showing players name on the game screen/map,
Sound alerts when low health
 
I'm sure that this type of thing will become even more widespread as other clans create their own scripts aiming to compete, so I suspect that it will be the way of things to come in 2016.
 
Do you see it becoming a major game changer for RS and the clan world and do you think that it should be allowed to be used on RS?
