Try and keep this bait free.....

Was thinking back through my runescape clanning history whilst going on a nostalgia trip on ts last night. Thought back to the time where I left The Gladiatorz back in 2010 and I needed a clan to join. My first choice was ROT when the clan world wasn't dead. I had the money for the F2P + P2P set requirements but I felt I wouldn't have enough to survive in the long run so I decided not to join and I was recruited to The Rising.

If I didn't join TR, I probably wouldn't have met the people I have become friends/close friends with in TR/post TR. If I joined ROT back then, I'd honestly wouldn't know where I'd end up today. But I feel that I made the correct decision back then to get to the point where I am today.

So now I ask: (This doesn't have to be a decision on joining a clan, it could be a decision you were thinking of doing whilst in a clan which may have affected your position in a clan such as leaving or doing something stupid that might lead to you kicked/demoted but didn't go through with it)

Has there been any close calls in your runescape clanning history which would have changed where you are at now?  


Where do you think you would be today if you followed through with your initial decision?



For clarification, this is a question on an individual front, not as a clan. Tried to sound as clear as possible, but I'd understand if you didn't understand the question.

What do you guys think of being a mimic of another clan.

Hmm well for example taking the names of that said clan?

and also do you believe that if a clan thinks they cannot win then they will do everything to try and be that clan? such as taking names of that clan xD?

And also when you see that clans members watching every event of yours is this a sign of longing that they are wanting to be your clan?>

Maybe clans have time to watch other clans event when they have no real events of there own ^.^

rs3 was conquered in a month and that was boring and easy, but f2p and GE makes the game a whole lot easier for us pensioners

y? and if we do reopen it will not be rs3 because that server is lame and easy...atleast vr is some competition on OSRS

Since the old topic is barely working anymore, I'm remaking this for more convenient posting.

If you think you have a good clan related suggestion please post in this topic and a Senior Clan Staff member will comment on your suggestion ASAP. If it's a good suggestion that could end up in improving Clan Discussion, it will be discussed among the Clan Staff.

I know this likely aint allowed. However...just give me like 24 hours or till I get the question answered please :(

Anyways. Back to the question. Their was this aussie clan that CL hunted exclusively...it was led by xxsephirothxx or something like that. He created a couple clans in an attempt to get rid of yalls spys. What were the clan names? Im looking to get into possible contact with a long time follower of sephiroth. Name is koooolllmaaaaaan or something like that.

Like I said mods...just give me a little bit before locking it please. Cant find no way to get hold of CL since their forums are gone...and some bad attempt at a remake has happened...

Hello men, i understand this topic may be controversial however i would like you to remain unbaised in your discussion and if the mods see fit to close this topic i will understand, however i believe it has potential for valid discussion.


As many of you know VR and ROT have both leaked eachothers boards in a recent attempt to take this crash war to a new level, the affect of this however has been very beneficial to VR as they pulled 60 last week and 85 today. i have riddled myself and belief it is safe to say VR has potential for #1 however since df/di are both in a crash war with rot aswell as VR there will not be a chance for an honourable battle for #1.



so riddle me this


1. is VR's recent pulls enough to justify a new #1 clan?

2. do you wish the crashing would stops just a little for a ROT vs VR fight for #1?

3. has rot gone too far in its attacks againstead the honorabel clan world and they are too far gone from peace speaks?

Today I was watching Better Call Saul and just having a jolly time while some thoughts about the clan world hit me. I have a few questions for everyone.

1. Has your clan ever changed their names to those of other, more superior clans? If yes, how did it make you feel?

2. If not, how would it make you feel if your clan did this?

3. If your leaders insisted on doing this name change then piled you, would you be mad, sad, enraged, angry, etc?

Just a few hypothetical questions that could spark a good, intellectual discussion.

Please leave the clan beef, flames, and flame baits off my topic. Thank you.


My answers:


1. Has your clan ever changed their names to those of other, more superior clans? If yes, how did it make you feel?
Nope, luckily my clan doesn't have to gain those sorts of advantages.
2. If not, how would it make you feel if your clan did this?
If my clan did this, I'd feel demoralized because it just shows that we can't win normally so have to try using 'snake' tactics.
3. If your leaders insisted on doing this then piled you, would you be mad, sad, enraged, angry, etc?
If my leader piled me after forcing this type of name change on me, I think I'd be pretty mad, especially because I didn't even want said name change.

For those of you who have experienced both sides of the clanning community, which style of warring do you prefer? If your clan is based around F2P, does your clan also participate in P2P PKing?

I've been a part of F2P clans my entire clanning career. I've never really understood nor preferred P2P warring because it seems less organized/terribly lag inducing. However, smaller PK Trips I've found to be a lot more enjoyable. Perhaps those who are more experienced can enlighten me on the appeal of it versus F2P warring.

I was here wondering currently, I know that there are basically only a few clans left, who have never closed and remained opened since their birth. Still, there are clans around, who have members which have stayed loyal to the one and only, even through their closure, whether they were inactive or just not involved within other clans since their home clan was gone.

So, I was wondering to ask:

• How big percentage still active persons of your member base have been involved within at least 2/3 of your clan's age?
  
• Do you think that having big OldSchool unit have rather positive or negative outcome to your clan's success?
  
• How much your clan's recruitment have been focused on bringing completely fresh blood to your community, people who have never had major scene experience?

A lot of you have likely seen some of the mass name changes done by several clans in the community. At this point almost every clan has had one at one point or another. Much of last summer consisted of every clan fighting each other with a mass name change until some decided it was for the better to do away with it. While it offers a strategic advantage there's no really necessity for it unless you really need it to put your clan over the top.

Recently the large scaled mass name changes have been variations of RoT's CRYMORE, AF's ANCIENT, and VR's VIOLENT. While DI and DF have opted not to mass name change for the most part, RoT's latest move has been to change names in aim to impersonate members of their opponents. Tactically it has its advantages when crashing fights, but in the broader scheme of things it looks fanatical. Some members of various clans have already began to switch back to their original names while waiting for the clan to make their next big change.

What's your opinion when it comes to name changing?

Personally I've never participated in the name changes DI has had. After a couple of times I think most of us grew old of it. We actually have a good amount of people who actively play the game and chat in cc and it becomes confusing as to who we're talking to. During a fight it might take a caller an extra second or two to describe the pile when someone has a name change, but it's nothing more than a small nuisance.

Clans that still use it tactically as an advantage probably don't even need it to compete, yet they still coordinate the change every month or two. Seems like it's becoming more of an act of trolling rather than an advantageous tactic at this stage. Sinking to the point where you need to change your name to copy someone else's is pretty low. I never understood why people wouldn't want to brand themselves and stick with one name.

Before anyone could change their name the community as whole was a lot better. Even at a quick glance most people knew what clan everyone was in. The best binders, callers, and tanks were all recognized for their excellence as well. Nobody's ever going to be recognized when you change your name every week. It's almost as if everyone is preoccupied with being identical instead of trying to make a name for themselves.

Hopefully one day we'll see these mass name changes disappear. As unlikely as it is I can still hope.

This is a listing of all the matches that will take place starting on Monday January 26 through Sunday February 2. This is the final week of the tournament as it comes to a close. Some really enticing matchups have been drawn for this last round, and I hope a lot of people are excited to see who comes out on top.

Because we allow clans to set up times and rules that they prefer, and can negotiate like any other clan fight, we ask a clan leader from one of the two fighting clans to fill out the following form, and a leader from the other clan to quote, and confirm that it is correct. This way we can write it down for one of our representatives to attempt to be at the match and watch for any potential foul play. These forms should be sent in via reply to this thread.

The idea for the stream would be a 3rd person perspective watching the fight, and commentating on what is going on. If you have any ideas to refine the stream or make it better if it does end up happening, leave those in the replies as well.

So I was chilling at RoT HQ today just talking to my family about just normal stuff outside of the clan world such as the Superbowl and why it is so hard to buy items from idiots without the GE, And I had some hypothetical thoughts.

What does your clan like to discuss when they aren't in the heat of battle?

Does your clan like to discuss what's going on with other clans?

If you had 20 topics about another clan in only a couple of days..how would you feel?

Do you think officials in a clan should worry about their own shortcomings or flooding their own clan discussion with talks of another clan?

Well my friends I finally got enraged enough and I have decided that I will be forwarding certain names and addresses of known ddosser / doxer and sending them to tipoff@jagex.com and the fbi these people know who they are and they are in one clan for the most part if you count sv + rot as one clan (which I do) hopefully these internet terrorists get reprimanded and they realize the severity of there actions and just how strange there actions are given this is a game for fun

What do you take into consideration when determining which clan's the best of the best? What characteristics should the clan have in order to be titled as the best clan?

Personally I'd go with the following:

- Top notch quality
- Good pulls
- Dedicated members
- Being undefeated in 1v1's
- Being so dominant that the remaining clans/teams are forced to team with each other in order to take you down.

Edit: To clear up some confusion, I'm not in Ret. I just feel like it's necessary to suck up to Ret, which I see no problem in seeing as all the other clans are sucking up to each other.

Do you guys play for fights or for your clans community and what makes a good community?

Do you think there are any good reasons to not use your mic in a clan and create a better community?

I will tell you my thoughts.

I believe a good community is the most important part as being in the number 1 clan can be boring with people starving af of fights its important to have a good community.

I believe a community is made on ts and not on irc and that a ts community is only good when the majority of users have microphones else what is the point of being on ts lol.

So for years there has always been certain clans that are far more superior, organization wise, than others. My question is; Do you feel like clans that all speak the same language fluently are more than likely to be more organized than clans with people from all over the world?

For example, FOOLS and RoT are considered to be the two most organized clans in this game. Is it just a coincidence that all of FOOLS speak Finnish fluently and all of RoT speak English fluently / for the most part are from English speaking countries?

Also the fact that teams / clans that are known to have a lot of European / South American members do NOT perform so well in-game.

I guess what I'm wondering is; do you think there is a direct correlation between language barriers and poor organization?
